Custard Tart

Mix a carton of Ambrosia Custard with 1 egg and a splash of vanilla essence. Spoon this mixture into a ready made pastry case and bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes at 150ºC / gas mark 2.

Serves 4

What you need

  • 1 egg
  • 500g Ambrosia Custard
  • a few drops vanilla essence
  • ready made pastry case
  • baking tray

How to make it

  1. Preheat the oven to 150ºC/ gas mark 2
  2. Lightly beat an egg in a mixing bowl and then add the Ambrosia Custard and a few drops of vanilla essence. Mix well.
  3. Place the ready-made pastry case onto a baking tray and then pour the custard mixture into the case.
  4. Bake for 35 – 40 minutes or until the custard is set.

Hints and tips

  • For a traditional flavour add some ground nutmeg prior to baking.
  • This dessert can be served hot or cold.
