Shepherd's Pie with Veg Mash

To help with your 5-a-day, top Homepride Shepherd’s Pie with vegetable mash using a combination of potatoes, carrots and parsnips.
Serves 4
What you need
- 3 potatoes, peeled and diced
- 3 carrots, peeled and chopped
- 2 parsnips, peeled and chopped
- 25 g butter
- 4 tablespoons milk
- salt and black pepper
- 500g minced lamb or beef
- Jar Homepride Shepherds Pie Cook-In Sauce
- ovenproof dish
How to make it
- Boil the vegetables until tender, then drain and mash with butter, milk, salt and pepper.
- Brown off the mince in a pan and stir in a jar of Homepride Shepherds Pie Cook-In Sauce and then transfer to an ovenproof dish.
- Top with vegetable mash.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes in a preheated oven at 190ºC/ Gas Mark 5
Hints and tips
- Add a tablespoon of wholegrain mustard to the mash for a really interesting flavour.
