To make a delicious variation on French toast, make up a cheese and Branston pickle sandwich using 2 slices of bread then dip the sandwich in some beaten egg and fry gently until golden and crisp.
Serves 1
What you need
- 2 slices of bread, lightly buttered
- 25g grated cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp of Branston Smooth Pickle
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- vegetable oil for frying
- non-stick frying pan
How to make it
- Place the grated cheese onto a slice of buttered bread and then top with the Branston Smooth Pickle.
- Add the other slice of bread to complete and cut the sandwich in half.
- Pour the beaten egg onto a saucer and then dip the sandwiches into the egg until absorbed on both sides.
- Heat some oil in a pan and then quickly fry the sandwich on both sides until crisp and golden.
Hints and tips
- Why not try a breakfast toasty by making a sandwich with cooked bacon or sausage and then dip in the beaten egg mixture.
- For a delicious change use Branston Small Chunk Pickle.
