To add an extra twist to shepherd’s pie try adding a tin of Branston Baked Beans and 2 lamb stock cubes when cooking the mince
Serves 4
What you need
- 1 quantity of your favorite shepherd’s pie filling
- 1 can Branston Baked Beans
- 2 lamb stock cubes
- 500g mashed potato
- ovenproof dish
How to make it
- Make your favorite Shepherd’s Pie filling and 5 minutes before it is ready, stir in some Branston Baked Beans and 2 crumbled lamb stock cubes. Transfer to an ovenproof dish.
- Cover with mashed Potato and place in the oven at 375ºF/190ºC/Gas Mark 5 for 30 minutes or until golden brown on top.
Hints and tips
- For a tasty change use a root vegetable mash such as parsnips and swede or sweet potato also works very well.
- Add some grated cheese to the mashed potato to make a cheesy topped shepherd’s pie.
