For a fabulous trifle take a large glass bowl and add a layer of black cherry pie filling, chocolate sponge, and Chocolate Angel Delight then repeat the layers. Decorate the top with some whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles. Looks very decedent in a glass dish, but so simple!

Serves 7

What you need

  • 1 can black cherry pie filling
  • 1 × 20 cm chocolate sponge cake, homemade or shop bought
  • 1 sachet Chocolate Angel Delight, made up as directed on the pack
  • whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles for decoration
  • 1 large glass bowl

How to make it

  1. Add half a can of black cherry pie filling to the base of a large glass bowl.
  2. Cut the sponge into thick slices and cover the pie filling with half of the sponge and then spread over half of the Chocolate Angel Delight.
  3. Repeat the layers again and then finish off with some whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Hints and tips

  • For an extra special grown up dessert soak the chocolate sponge in some crème de cassis.
  • For variety use different pie fillings, raspberry pie filling with Raspberry Angel Delight works very well.
