I made this

For a hearty sausage casserole that the whole family will love add some Homepride Sausage Casserole Cook-in-Sauce to grilled sausages and then top with sliced potatoes and some butter then bake until golden.

Serves 4

What you need:

  • 8 pork or beef sausages
  • 1 Jar Homepride Sausage Casserole Cook-in-Sauce
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • butter
  • ovenproof dish

via Asda, Sainsbury's,
Tesco and Ocado

How to make it:

  1. Preheated the oven 190ºC/375ºF/Gas 5.
  2. Gently fry or grill sausages for 10 minutes until evenly browned.
  3. Place sausages into an ovenproof dish and pour over a jar of Homepride Sausage Casserole Cook-in-Sauce.
  4. Layer the sliced potatoes over the sausages then dot a few pieces of butter over and bake for 35 minutes until the potatoes are crisp and golden.

Hints and tips:

  • Try adding some root vegetables to the casserole such as carrots and parsnips.

Comments

  • I made this last night and it was scrummy! Plus it was so easy as I got the ingredients delivered. If you haven't tried the meal planner yet you should, you can do your weekly shop for the family in under 10 minutes and don't have to worry about going to the supermarket and buying stuff you don't need.

  • This recipe could be tried with mash potatoes on top and grated cheese sprinkled onto the mash, then baked in the oven.

  • Tried this recipe, but it was not at all a substantial meal. Not tasty in the slightest. You would probably need to put in double the quantity of sausages and quite a few vegetables for this to work. However, I wouldn't try it again.
