Family Favourite Baked Pasta

I made this

For a speedy one pot cooking idea add some Homepride Creamy Tomato and Herb Pasta bake to dried pasta, add some cooked chicken and top with grated cheese. Bake in the oven until bubbling and golden.

Serves 4

What you need:

  • 1 jar Homepride Creamy Tomato and Herb Pasta Bake
  • 200g dry pasta shapes, shells or spirals
  • 3 cooked chicken breasts, diced
  • 100g cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1.5L (2¾pt) shallow ovenproof dish

via Asda, Sainsbury's,
Tesco and Ocado

How to make it:

  1. Preheat your oven to 200ºC/ 400ºF/Gas 6.
  2. Pour the sauce into a shallow ovenproof dish. Fill the empty jar ¾ full with cold water and stir into the sauce.
  3. Stir in pasta, coating well then bake uncovered for 25 minutes.
  4. Remove dish from oven, add the chicken and stir thoroughly. Sprinkle over the cheese and return to the oven for 20 minutes until bubbling and golden.
  5. Leave to stand for 5 minutes before serving.

Hints and tips:

  • Try replacing the chicken with any left over meat such as leftover gammon or turkey.
  • For a vegetarian option try adding some Quorn Chicken Style Pieces.

  • I like to add some leftover (normally half) smoked sausage and sliced mushrooms really makes it a meal and no need for anything on the side

  • I like to do this with meatballs, you can get them fairly cheap from the freezer section. Fry the meatballs lightly first then add to the mix!!

  • This is a fav of my son, sometimes I add a little extra milk and sprinkle of paxo mix before adding cheese, makes it a spicy, crusty top, even nice cold with salad..
