Mashed Potatoes with a Twist

Finely chop a few Haywards Silverskin Onions and mix into your mashed potatoes, serve with sausages for a tangy twist on the winter classic of bangers and mash.

Serves 4

What you need

  • Haywards Silverskin Onions, finely chopped
  • 450g potatoes
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • knob of butter
  • large saucepan

How to make it

  1. Boil the potatoes until soft, drain and put back into the pan.
  2. Add milk and a knob of butter then mash until smooth.
  3. Stir through some finely chopped Haywards Silverskin Onions and serve at once.

Hints and tips

  • Add fresh herbs such as parsley for added colour and flavour.
  • For a really tasty recipe use this mashed potaoe as a topping for shepherd’s pie.
