Make your own Chicken Goujons just crumble an Oxo Chicken Cube into flour, add some spices then coat chicken strips with egg and flour before oven roasting.
Serves 4
What you need:
- 1 Oxo Chicken cube
- 4 tbsp flour
- 1 tbsp Cajun spice, Jamaican Jerk or Chinese 5 spice
- 3 chicken breasts cut into thin strips,
- 1 egg, beaten
- 200g dried breadcrumbs
- vegetable oil
- baking tray
via Asda, Sainsbury's,
Tesco and Ocado
How to make it:
- Preheat the oven to 190ºC/375ºF/Gas 5.
- Crumble an Oxo Chicken Cube into the flour then add the spices and mix thoroughly.
- Place the flour mixture, egg and breadcrumbs onto three separate plates then dip each piece of chicken firstly into the flour, then egg and finally coat in the breadcrumbs.
- Lay each piece of chicken onto a lightly oiled baking tray and then brush over lightly with oil.
- Cook for 25 minutes until the chicken is cooked turning once.
Hints and tips:
- For a really crispy coating try using Panko Japanese breadcrumbs.
