For a delicious family treat roughly cut up Cadbury Chocolate Cake Bars and line the base of an ovenproof dish then top with chocolate custard and pear slices. Sprinkle sugar over the top and bake for 20 minutes in a moderate oven until the pears are soft. Serve with a scoop of ice cream.
Serves 4
What you need
- 4 Cadbury Chocolate Cake Bars
- 1 litre chocolate custard
- 1 large can pear halves
- 2 tbsp Demerara sugar
- ovenproof dish
How to make it
- Preheat the oven to 190ºC/375ºF/gas mark 5
- Roughly cut up the Cadbury Chocolate Cake Bars and place them in the base of a lightly greased ovenproof dish.
- Pour the custard over the cake layer and then arrange the pear halves on top.
- Sprinkle the sugar over the pears and then bake in the oven for 20 minutes until the custard is piping hot and the sugar has caramelised.
Hints and tips
- Try using mandarin segments instead of pears for a delicious alternative.
- This recipe works very well topped with a ready made crumble mixture instead of the sugar topping.
