Using canned pears, digistive biscuits and custard you can make a warming winter crumble that the whole family will enjoy.

Serves 4

What you need

  • 1 large can of pears, drained
  • 10 digestive biscuits, crushed
  • 1tbsp butter, melted
  • Ambrosia Devon Custard
  • ovenproof dish, lightly greased

How to make it

  1. Preheat the oven to 190ºC/375ºF/Gas 5.
  2. Spoon the pears into the base of an ovenproof dish.
  3. Place the crushed biscuits into a bowl and add the melted butter and mix gently until you have a crumble mixture.
  4. Sprinkle the crumble on top of the pears and bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until the crumble is golden.
  5. Serve with lashings of warm Ambrosia Devon Custard.

Hints and tips

  • Try adding some porridge oats to the crumble mixture.
  • Other fruits such as canned sliced peaches also work very well.
