For perfect apple tarts with a twist just top discs of puff pastry with a thin layer of Frank Cooper’s Original Thick Cut marmalade then add sliced cooking apples and a sprinkling of sugar and bake in a hot oven until golden.
Serves 6
What you need
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 3 tbsp Frank Cooper’s Original Thick Cut marmalade
- 2 cooking Apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
- Demerara sugar
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 200ºC / 400ºF/ Gas 6
- Cut 6 discs out of a puff pastry sheet and spread with a thin layer of marmalade.
- Arrange the apple slices on top of the pastry, sprinkle with sugar and bake in the oven for about 20 minutes until golden and well risen.
Hints and tips
- Serve with a dollop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
- Try sprinkling a little cinnamon on top of each tart as it really compliments the orange flavour.
