For perfect apple tarts with a twist just top discs of puff pastry with a thin layer of Frank Cooper’s Original Thick Cut marmalade then add sliced cooking apples and a sprinkling of sugar and bake in a hot oven until golden.

Serves 6

What you need

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 3 tbsp Frank Cooper’s Original Thick Cut marmalade
  • 2 cooking Apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
  • Demerara sugar

How to make it

  1. Preheat oven to 200ºC / 400ºF/ Gas 6
  2. Cut 6 discs out of a puff pastry sheet and spread with a thin layer of marmalade.
  3. Arrange the apple slices on top of the pastry, sprinkle with sugar and bake in the oven for about 20 minutes until golden and well risen.

Hints and tips

  • Serve with a dollop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
  • Try sprinkling a little cinnamon on top of each tart as it really compliments the orange flavour.
