Zesty Orange Custard

Add a little orange zest for a lovely orange Bird’s Custard and it goes really well with a chocolate pudding.
Serves 4
What you need:
- Bird’s Custard Powder
- sugar
- milk
- zest of 1 orange
- 4 thick slices of chocolate cake
- 4 dessert bowls
via Asda, Sainsbury's,
Tesco and Ocado
How to make it:
- Make up 4 portions of Bird’s Custard as directed on the pack
- Sir through the orange zest
- Place a slice of chocolate cake into each bowl and pour over the hot orange custard.
Hints and tips:
- Make up the custard slightly thicker, allow to cool and use to make a mandarin trifle serve with a layer of jelly, mandarins and whipped cream.
- Try making a tropical custard using lime zest and serve with a coconut macaroon.
