Savoury Mince

I made this

A savoury recipe that can be adapted to suit your tastes and will make a little mince go a long way just add some sage & onion stuffing mix, onion, mushrooms, baby carrots and Beef Oxo cubes to some minced beef along with some hot water and simmer gently until cooked.

Serves 4

What you need:

  • 300g lean minced beef
  • 100g sage & onion stuffing mix
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 100g mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 can baby carrots, drained
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 2 Beef Oxo Cubes
  • 300ml hot water
  • large frying pan with lid

Tesco and Ocado

How to make it:

  1. Heat the frying pan then add the mince and cook over a moderate heat until browned.
  2. Add the sage & onion stuffing mix , diced onion, sliced mushrooms, tinned baby carrots and tomato ketchup.
  3. Pour in the hot water and add crumbled the Beef Oxo Cubes.
  4. Stir well and put the lid on the pan and allow to simmer away until cooked and most of the liquid absorbed into the meat mixture.

Hints and tips:

  • Once cooked this mixture can then be used in a number of ways such as topped with mashed potato and grated cheese then finished off under the grill or try it with mashed potato and seasonal vegetables as a filling for a giant yorkshire pudding.
  • use it as a filling for jacket potatoes or mixed with pasta. The list is only limited by your imagination.
