Just add onion gravy made with Bisto Gravy Granules to some diced corned beef and top with seasoned mashed potato and grated cheese for a quick and tasty corned beef version of cottage pie
Serves 4
What you need
- 1 large tin corned beef, diced
- 1 large onion, diced
- 400ml cold water
- 2 tbsp Bisto Gravy Granules
- 1kg potatoes, boiled and mashed
- pinch of dried mustard
- pepper
- 40g grated cheddar cheese cheese
- casserole dish
How to make it
- Preheat the oven to 190ºC/375ºF/gas mark 5.
- Transfer the diced corned beef to a casserole dish.
- Place the diced onion and water into a microwavable dish and cook on medium power until onion is soft.
- Thicken the onion mixture with Bisto gravy granules then pour over the corned beef.
- Season the mashed potato with mustard and pepper then spread over the corned beef mixture.
- Sprinkle over the grated cheese and cook in the oven for 25 minutes or until the potato is browned.
Hints and tips
- You can fry the onion in butter or oil if prefered then just add water and Bisto.
- Try adding some vegetables to the base such as diced Swede or carrots.
