To create a tasty soup just add together some bacon, dry spaghetti, vegetables, a couple of Oxo Chicken Cubes and water in a pan, simmer gently and the result is a fantastic soup to eat on any occasion.

Serves 5

What you need

  • 200g streaky bacon, diced
  • 2 medium onions, finely diced
  • 2 large carrots, peeled and grated
  • 3 large potatoes, peeled and grated
  • 100g dried short spaghetti, broken into pieces
  • 1 can of chopped tomatoes
  • 2 Oxo Chicken Cubes, crumbled
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree
  • large saucepan with lid

How to make it

  1. Place all of the ingredients into a pan and add enough boiling water to just cover.
  2. Bring the mixture to the boil and then cover with a lid and simmer gently for 1½-2hours or until the vegetables are tender and the soup has thickened

Hints and tips

  • Make sure you use a large saucepan and stir the soup regularly.
  • Delicious served with crusty bread.
