Hot Dried Fruit Trifle

A great way to use up leftover dried fruit or a tasty twist on a fresh fruit trifle.

Serves 4

What you need

  • 300g mixed dried fruit, apricots, raisins, sultanas etc
  • 250ml orange juice
  • sponge fingers
  • Ambrosia Custard
  • ovenproof dish

How to make it

  1. Put the mixed dried fruit into a bowl, pour over the orange juice and leave in the fridge for a few hours or overnight to soak.
  2. Lay sponge fingers in the bottom of an oven proof dish and then pour the fruit and any juice over the top.
  3. Cover the whole lot in Ambrosia Custard and bake in the oven at 180ºC/350ºF/Gas 4 for 20 minutes or until the custard is hot.

Hints and tips

  • Try adding dates or dried cranberries for a more festive taste.
