Jam Surprise Pancakes

When making American style breakfast pancakes, stir 2 spoonfuls of Hartley’s jam into the batter mix to give the pancakes a delicious fruity twist
Serves 4
What you need
- 1 quantity of your favourite American batter mix, homemade or shop bought
- 2 tbsp Hartley’s Raspberry Jam (or any flavour)
- knob of butter
- non-stick frying pan
How to make it
- Make up an American batter using your own recipe or a shop bought batter mix.
- Add the Hartley’s Jam and whisk until the batter is smooth. Leave to stand for 5 minutes.
- Heat a non-stick frying pan over a medium heat and add a knob of butter.
- When the butter has melted ladle some of the mixture into the pan. You should be able to cook 2-3 at once.
- When the top of the pancake begins to bubble, turn it over and cook until both sides are golden brown. Repeat until all of the batter is used.
Hints and tips
- Great served with fresh fruit and natural yoghurt or on their own.
- Keep the pancakes warm in the oven whilst you are cooking subsequent batches
